Praktijk Chiropractie Stegeman has been located at Zwolsestraat 197 in The Hague since 1987. Chiroprator Erik Stegeman started the practice. In 2019 Kai Holm took over and Erik retired in May 2025. Since 1987 we have treated over 24,000 people from The Netherlands and abroad. We are there for everyone, from babies to the elderly.

Quality and personal attention are at the heart of our practice. This is reflected, among other things, in the breadth of care we provide and the personal attention during each treatment. Unlike many other practices, where a follow-up treatment takes five or seven minutes, we consciously choose to really take the time to discuss with you how things are going and tailor our treatment to the situation. We often complement chiropractic corrections with Dry Needling, Triggerpoint Therapy, traction, massage, advice or at-home exercises.

Common complaints are (low) back pain, lumbago, herniated disc, sciatica, neck and shoulder pain. But symptoms such as dizziness, whiplash, RSI, headaches, migraines, facial pain, muscle complaints and joint pain are also often well treatable with chiropractic care. For pregnant women, (crying) babies and children, chiropractic can also be a godsend.

What is chiropractic care?

It is essential for our health that our nervous system can function properly. This is because the nerves in the spinal cord connect our brain to the rest of the body. The spinal cord is surrounded and protected by the spine. To avoid stress on the nerves, all 24 vertebrae and the pelvis must be able to move smoothly. If there are movement blockages in the spine or pelvis, it can cause irritation to the nerves, preventing them from passing on their message properly. This can have consequences all through the body, often manifesting as (pain) symptoms.

A chiropractor checks the spine and pelvis for blockages with a thorough examination. The chiropractor uses various treatment methods to correct these blockages, allowing the nerve impulses to once again reach their target unhindered and the body to recover.

What does a treatment programme look like?

When you come to your first appointment, it is important that the chiropractor first gets a good picture of you and your symptoms. So during your first appointment, we take the time to discuss your history and personal situation. Afterwards, the chiropractor will do a physical examination. The chiropractor has now gathered enough information to draw up a treatment plan. In many cases you will also be treated during the first appointment. During follow-up sessions, we always take the time to evaluate how you are doing and tailor our treatment to the situation. For instance, we often complement the chiropractic corrections with trigger point therapy, traction, massage, advice or at-home exercises.

PHASE 1: CORRECTIVE
